fish spines have already created some micro holes. How can I avoid this problem in the future?

I had the same problem and went to Home Depot and bought vynil material from a roll that they sell by the foot. I traced over the shape of the air floor (removed from the boat). I apply this vinyl over my floor when I'm fishing, and it keeps the spines from punturing the boat. It works great.

Great solution to a common problem. It's a shame that the manufacturers don't make this simple improvement to their boats! Inflatables are so great for fishing, but they aren't always robust enough to handle the fish and the gear.
